REVIEW: LILY LOLO MINERAL EYE COLOUR! (love love love!)

I am really excited about writing this entry tonight as I absolutely HEART this eyeshadow.

Last week I got my mitts on a lovely Lily Lolo mineral eye colour in "Indigo".

My word, it is simply STUNNING.

As you may already know I have quite a seductive relationship with purple eyeshadow, second only after green.
I think purple is the perfect shade to compliment my oh so boring brown eyes and it also works wonderfully as a good smokey eye ;)

BUT! This is Indigo we're talking about. A gloriously blue/purple shade in wonderful metallic form. *examines and admires swatch on hand* The swatch on the website really doesn't do it justice.

I mixed it with a mixing medium to get an even bolder colour (see swatch on left). Swatch on right is the eyeshadow dry.

The mineral eyeshadows come in loose form and a little goes a long way with great staying power. What I love most about them is the butter like texture (if you could even say such a thing and make sense mind), but it just effortlessly glides onto the skin. So soft and super fine milled.

I wrote about Lily Lolo earlier in the year but just to recap, they are a UK based mineral make up company where synthetics are most definitely OUT and natural goodness is IN. Perfect for those who have sensitive skin and really care about what their make up contains i.e no chemical nasties. They are also animal friendly too :)

A mineral eye colour costs £5 and comes in a variety of natural as well as BRIGHT AND BOLD colours.

REVIEW: LILY LOLO MINERAL MAKE UP

Mineral make up has become really popular of late, especially here in the UK (we are always forever behind our over the pond friends).

One UK company I thought I would write about today is Lily Lolo.
I first heard about them oooo must be well over a year ago...maybe even longer(!) as my friend and I were looking into purchasing a cheaper alternative to I.D Bare Escentuals (it's SUPER expensive here!).

So I stumbled across Lily Lolo and we decided to order a few items to try. At the time they did sample sizes of eyeshadow, foundation, blusher and bronzer (still do sample sizes for these), so we ordered a fair few!

I absolutely fell in love with the products when they arrived. Everything about them, the pigment especially was so good and the texture was so smooth and super fine milled. They just have a wonderful variety of eye shadows...ok so they might not be as bold and bright as Barry M but they are FAB for those who want to experiment with colour but still wanting to play it slightly safe...minus "pixie sparkle" and "blue lagoon" of course!

Anyway! I ordered a few things from them last month which I thought I would share with you all.

The items I ordered were:

Eye shadow (£5 each) in Smokey Brown, Ripe Plum,
African Violet (see below)

Blusher (£7) in Rosy Apple

I love them! Like I said they are so soft to apply and so finely milled that they just glide on.
The pigment of these products really is exceptional and I think for the price you pay they are good value for money as the eyeshadows come in a generous pot.

Smokey brown is as it says...a fab smokey eyed look (in fact might use this tomorrow!)
African Violet is matte...this one am not so sure on colour wise...it just doesn't suit me I think...
Ripe Plum is like Mac's Green Brown pigment...has a two tone effect that is delicious and at a fraction of the price.

As for the blusher...at first I thought it was super bright but on application it gives a lovely warm glow to the cheeks...it's like a copper colour but applied it just defuses fantastically!

I would definitely recommend them.

It's just a shame they don't so sample sizes of the eyeshadows anymore. I think they should at least give samples away with orders to entice people like myself to buy more (it definitely works on me!).

Have you tried Lily Lolo? Let me know what you bought and what you thought of them. Am so curious to know!
