BICESTER VILLAGE MAC MINI HAUL

Last Saturday my brother and I drove up to Oxford to the Bicester Village outlet store in pursuit of much needed Xmas pressies.

Needless to say I came back with ziltch...but a few tops and of course make up for myself.

Have I told you how much I love the make up store there? It's an Estee Lauder one so think Origins, Bobbi Brown and of course Mac.

It's hit or miss what you are going to find there as it's all past collection stock.
This weekend they had Dame Edna, Hello Kitty, Naked Honey to name a few.
However, the one item I did get incredibly excited about was the lip lacquer in Fanplastico. I've wanted this one for a while as it's not available to buy anymore and my gosh I squealed when I spotted it!

It's a deliciously devilish drop dead red...a really lovely ripe cherry shade *swoons*

I have added another red lippy to my collection..."red, she said". It's Mac amplified so it's got a slight sheen to it. I'm not sure if it's opaque enough for me. I like my reds to be bright and bold. Think all out statement red. It just might be a bit too subtle for me but it's still a lovely red in it's own right.

Swatches below. Left to right: Red She Said, Fanplastico.

I also bought a Mac eyeshadow in "wedge". I tend not to get bog standard natural colours and favour brights with greens and purples being my favourites.
Lastly...Mac lower false lashes! I LOVE lower lashes and it's a shame they are not readily available in places like Superdrug or Boots. So yes...had to have these. Might wear them over xmas for a subtle Twiggy look ;)

REVIEW: DR ORGANIC MANUKA HONEY CONDITIONER...LOVE IT!

Am really excited to tell you all about the new conditioner I have been using!

I was stocking up on my usual herbal teas during one of my trips to Holland & Barrett which is a health food store here in the UK. When I went to pay they told me it was buy 2 get 3rd free on any mix and match in the store, so in a rush I grabbed the Dr Organic Manuka Honey Conditioner.

It's been lingering about in my bathroom for a while and I have only recently started to use it.

OMGOSH it is sooooo good!

I wasn't holding out much hope for this conditioner as I don't seem to have much luck with "natural" conditioners (Lush ones aside!). I tend to find they never really condition my hair enough and I am left with dry ends etc.

Sooo...could a conditioner claiming to have natural ingredients, no harsh chemicals, no preservatives or mineral oils amongst other things give good results?

I tried it...and I LOVE IT!

It makes my hair SOOO incredibly soft and shiny...plus the SCENT...*sniffs hair*...is absolutely delicious! *sniffs some more*

I'm now religiously using this product and can't wait to try out the matching shampoo.

The conditioner costs £4.99 and is available from Holland & Barrett.

XMAS GLITTER GIVEAWAY!

So to celebrate Christmas I thought I would have a little giveaway!

I was recently at TKMaxx and came across the Pop Beauty Glitter Must Haves kit. See...I've already got one of these so I pondered a while as to who would actually like it...then I thought I haven't done a giveaway in a while so yes! I bought it and here it is and up for grabs.

I absolutely LOVE this kit...it's fab for glittery eyelids, eyeliner, glittery lips etc. It's so versatile!

I also bought two Light Up glitter lip glosses by Gosh when I was in Superdrug and these will also be up for grabs. What I like about these is they remind me of the Mac Dazzle Glasses; but they have a little fun gimmick of having an in built light inside with a mirror on the side so you can effectively...apply lipgloss in the dark!

SOOO..If you'd like to win one of the above prizes all you have to do is subscribe to my blog and leave a comment on this post stating that you would like to enter.

Winners will be chosen at random. One prize per winner. Who gets what will also be chosen at random.

Winners will be announced on the 12th December 09.

XMAS SPARKLE...OH YEAH LOTS OF GLITTER!

The one time glitter is bound to make an appearance is during Xmas and I thought I would share with you a few of my favourite glittery products...cause you all know...I just LOVE my glitter!

Barry M

I really love Barry M's fine glitter dust, especially in number 21 and 23. You can get a special take on the smokey eyes with these, just watch out for fall out!

Mac Glitter & Dazzle Glasses

I always turn to my Mac reflects glitter stash if I want to be a bit more subtle. My favourites are reflects gold and teal. Yes they are a bit pricey but a pot will last you a life time and I think compared to other brands you get a lot more for your money.
I also find the Dazzle Glasses perfect for the Xmas season, poutastic!

Sleek Make Up

Sleek Make Up have a fantastic selection of liquid glitter eyeliner for only a few pounds each. They also have some glitter pots which are versatile to use everywhere.

Urban Decay

Wow...I didn't realise I had such a thing for glitter eyeliner till I started pulling them all out...Urban Decay ones are on the pricey side, over £10 a pop! I have about five of these as when they first came out there wasn't another brand making glitter eyeliners.

Pop Beauty

I absolutely love this little glitter kit and it has lasted me an AGE already. You get 10 vials of loose glitter in tiny tubes, each with a wand for application. I particularly like the "Sophie Ellis Bextor - Murder on the Dance Floor video" green in this kit!

Nars

I love the little Nars single glitter eyeshadows! I wish I had more but they are so flipping expensive over here. I wear "fathom" as my day eyeshadow a heck of a lot but I really love "night porter" too.

Collection 2000

Again another brand that has some fab liquid eyeliner that won't break the bank...cheap and cheerful!

So there you go! It's a small selection but I hope it helps if you're thinking about adding a bit of sparkle to your Xmas outfits this year!

20% OFF ZOYA & QTICA PRODUCTS!

Thought you might like to know that the website where I bought all my nail treatments a while back is having a 20% off everything sale! Plus it's a Brit website too...yay!

The website is: www.nailcareclub.com

They stock lot's of fab products such as Zoya and Qtica...lot's of great nail treatments such as the zoom products. The sale is on until the 20th December so you have lots of time to get your orders in. The email I received says that the 20% discount should automatically be applied when you add a product to your shopping basket.

Am definitely getting more bottles of the
Single Nail Food Pack as I think both products in this set are amazing as they have worked wonders for my nails post artificial mess.

Also planning to get a few Zoya nail polishes too...anyone want to recommend some colours I should check out?

Let me know if you buy anything and please let me know what you got. Am hugely intrigued and always curious :)

BOYS & MAKE UP - BOBBI BROWN

A very quick post tonight but I thought I would share with you on of the sweetest things the boy said to me a few days ago which was make up related.

We were on the plane home from Barcelona and he turns to me and says:

"Mew, this isn't Bobbi Brown the singers make up line is it?"

Bless! I did one of those "OMGosh how cute are YOU!" looks and told him that it was indeed not. He still can't get his head around my make up obsession and has told the "sephora NYC" story to many people, friends and strangers alike. I spent a lot...

On a slightly different subject, but very much related, I will apologise now if my blogging is sporadic and infrequent over the next few weeks. I've had a bit of a shock to the system and am trying to get my head around everything at the moment. It's very sad but I have hope that things will work out. I just need that stiff upper lip thing us Brits have going and I shall be ok.

Please bear with me.x

NYX IN HARRODS

So am back from Barcelona and have lots of reviews to blog about!

I shall write a little post about m Barcelona experience but tonights post is most definitely about make up!

I made a little trip to Knightsbridge today and purchased a few make up goodies, one being a product that supposedly removes blackheads in one application...we shall see and we shall blog!

Also went to Harrods to check out the 10% thingy they were having.
I'm not very fond of the make up department there but did browse a few of the departments (shoes!) and also the 4th floor fashion bit. Now just as I was about to head for the Kurt Gieger section my eyes got distracted...an NYX STAND!Woo!

Naturally I made a beeline to it and had a good nosey! Unfortunately they don't have the round lipsticks but they did have the jumbo eye pencils :)
I bought a couple of them as well as a jumbo lip pencil.
The prices are a fair bit more than the US; £4.95 for a jumbo eye pencil...but if you've never tried the products (like me) and want to see the range in person then I think it's worth checking out.

Check out the photos to see what's available:

SUPERMARKET OWN PRODUCTS: waitrose

I was down Oxford Street this evening & decided to do a bit of food shopping in Waitrose (basement of John Lewis).

I've never really paid much attention to the waitrose own brand beauty products as my local supermarket is a Sainsburys, but yeah! My nose was really liking what it was smelling!

Their products seem to favour the more natural scent as oppose to that awful synthetic scent I absolutely detest. Having said that there wasn't much variety so am thinking they just stock one line of their brand.

Anyway! I decided to buy their body lotion and I will let you know if it passes the 30 second test. However, I think next time I will get their spicy bubble bath & their conditioner, both of which smelt DIVINE!

What's your favourite supermarket product? I'd love to know!
