MY CURRENT BEAUTY WISHLIST

Bookmark and Share

Beauty wishlists...the thing about them is that if you're a beauty addict like me...well it's always going to be growing..and growing...and GROWING!

However, all that being said, there are a few specific items which I would LOVE to get my mitts on and I thought I'd share them with you tonight!

First up...and this has been on my list for an absolute AGE!

1) Maison Martin Margiela "untitled" perfume.
I absolutely adore this scent. It's so unique and DIFFERENT. My main reason for not getting this is it's pretty pricey, £45 for 30ml. It also seems to have a tendency to not linger...
My work colleague just got this the other day and it's made me want it even more...it's an incredible scent! (photo taken of her bottle)
2) Chanel Paradoxal nail polish
Already out in the US, my work colleague came in last week with this adorned on her fingernails. I-WANT-IT. It's a hard colour to place, taupy muddy purple with a violet streak?(photo taken of work colleagues bottle!)
3) Clarisonic
I almost got this when I was in NYC in May but couldn't really justify the price tag at the time. I would LOVE to own one but right now still can't justify the price. Does anyone own one? What do you think?

I could give you a longer list but we'd be here for ages...*looks sheepish*

What's on your wishlist? Leave a comment and let me know! No doubt I'll be adding some of yours to mine :P

THE MOST DELICIOUS STRAWBERRY SCENTED BATH! Lush Mrs Whippy ballistic

Bookmark and Share
I have literally just stepped out of the most AMAZING bath...haven't had a bath this good in a while, mostly as I am harbouring my Aromatherapy Associates bath oils for a rainy day!

Today I popped into Lush down South Molton St. I use to frequent the Westfield one regularly in my lunch breaks but since I quit my last job it
's been a while since I went into one. Was SO nice to see some new products about and I made a quick beeline for the ballistics.

I love the Lush ballistics. They are the original "bath bomb" and nothing really compares to them. Don't fall for the copies as you will be sorely disappointed!

Today I purchased two of the new ballistics; with one of them being "
Mrs Whippy".

It has such a delicious strawberry scent that really lingers and clings to the skin. The sales assistant told me there are 4 new ballistics that have a lovely foaming effect and take a lot longer to dissolve than the original ones. If you've tried "Floating Island" or "Melting Marshmallow" then you are onto the right track...mix it up with a bit with the original ballistic formula and you've got yourself one incredible bath!

Now MY bath...I can't find the right words to describe it. It was pure luxury. So lovely to just lie in the tub surrounded by milky pink foam and melting cocoa butter beads. Very moisturising!
The ingredients are as follows:
Our natural ingredients are coloured green Our natural ingredients are coloured green. Our natural ingredients are coloured green Safe synthetics are coloured black.

Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Soya Milk Powder (Glycine soja), Tapioca Flour, Perfume, Cream of Tartar (Tartaric acid), Fairtrade Sugar, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocoa Absolute (Theobroma cacao), Tonka Absolute (Dipteryx odorata), Almond Essential Oil (Prunus dulcis), Buchu Oil (Barosma betulina), Titanium Dioxide, Cocamide DEA, Lauryl Betaine, *Coumarin, *Eugenol, *Limonene, Colour 14700, Colour 17200, Colour 45410 *Occurs naturally in essential oils

If you're looking for something to relax and comfort you midweek or any day of the week for that matter, and something affordable but luxurious I would definitely hot foot it down to Lush and grab yourself one of these. SO good!

REVIEW: DR ORGANIC MANUKA SHAMPOO

You know how much I LOVE the Dr Organic manuka products. I loved the silky feeling the conditioner gave me & how the honey scent lingered.

I really loved the face cream!

However, my love affair came to a halt when I tried the shampoo.

It's so thick & so difficult to lather up, not to mention wash out that I gave up on it after the first rinse. Just really didn't work for me am afraid.

That being said I am now using it as a body wash & its doing a much better job!

Have you tried this shampoo? What did you think?

SNEAK PEEK AT SELFRIDGES XMAS 2010!

Bookmark and Share

Yesterday I was lucky enough to attend the Selfridges Xmas press event and have a little sneak peak at what they have lined up for Christmas 2010!I really really REALLY wanted to show you the Nars lip kabuki set which reminds me of the geisha style lip paint of old. Think ceramic cups with solid pigment which you mix with a bit of water to release the colour.
Very ritualistic and would make a fantastic present! The set includes two shades...a scarlet red and a cheerful pink.
Unfortunately there are no images on the Selfridges site yet but as soon as they are up and I shall post them for you!

Here are the other items that caught my attention:

Brown deluxe beauty trunk £350
Bobbi Brown tools caddy with brushes £65Bobbi Brown mini brights palette £45 (this is definitely mini...pan size is super dinky!)L'Oreal Xmas 2010 beauty calendar (!) Price TBCShu Umeura customised lashes manga coffret £25 (was more excited to see the artists Takano's work on the box...LOVE her stuff!) Lastly there are various limited edition perfume bottles coming out including the Victor & Rolf limited edition £75 50ml. Not a fan of this fragrance at all but I love the new bottles they have coming out! Other notable fragrances included a gigantic Chanel No5,CD J'Adore with old style atomiser and the Benefit Crescent Row house complete with perfume for £400.That's it for my sneaky peaky! Which ones are making their way on your Xmas list? For me it's got to be the Nars lip set...have a feeling it's going to cost a pretty penny or more...

SKIN SOS! PRODUCT RAVE FOR B-LIV SKINCARE!

Bookmark and Share
I am really excited to tell you about the recent products I was sent from a company called "b-liv" by Cellnique.

Now first off let me tell you that I am usually incredibly dubious about testing ANY skincare product. Mostly because my skin just doesn't seem to agree with anything. Take Liz Earle for example...Cleanse & Polish cleaned my skin but after a while seemed to make my skin congested *sigh*.

I have always been envious of people with immaculate, flawless skin. Take the boy for example. He does jack s**t to maintain his complexion (he just uses WATER FFS!) yet his skin is incredible...GRRRR!

Anyway! So when I was contacted by b-Liv and asked whether I wanted to try their products I was a teeny bit skeptical. First off I had never heard of the company before and secondly, questions like "what if it screws my skin up even more?" popped up in my head, but after a bit of procrastinating decided "HECK...give it a GO!"...and I am SO glad I did.

I told B-Liv about the gripes I have with my skin and they suggested I try the following:

"Got Me Covered" foundation
"Off With Those Heads" blackhead sebum gel

I've been using these products for about a month now and hoping I don't sound like a paid ad (because believe me I wasn't and never do accept payment for reviews!) my skin has improved dramatically.

The horrible lumpy bumpy bits on my chin and around my mouth (which have been a constant irritation) have cleaned up completely and I have 95% clear skin.

Skin before (hopefully you can see the bumps and blemishes around my mouth:
Skin after:
Apologies its not the same angle but I hope you can see the difference.
The "got me covered" foundation is a very sheer, light foundation. It's not the foundation that's going to cover up blemishes or flaws but it will even your skintone out.
I think it only comes in one shade (eeek!) but it seems to suit me find (am a NC25/30 for reference) and is also spf35.
I have used this every day since they sent it to me and sinks into the skin with ease.

The "Off with those Heads" serum I use every night around my chin and mouth. It's a light gel that has no scent and doesn't tingle my skin like some blemish treatments tend to. A pleasant surprise as I was expecting this to really tingle and stink to high heaven of chemicals and nasty spot zapping stuff...
I also don't really have much blackheads (just on my nose)and I still seem to have some but it seems to heal and prevent any lumpy bumpy bumps from forming on my face...sod those blackheads this is a revelation! No bumpy skin...YES PLEASE!

All in all I am incredibly impressed with the results I have got from these two products. I've never heard of the brand before but I am so thankful for them for getting in touch with me as I absolutely will be purchasing these products again. They are a little on the pricey side, $49 USD for 30ml "Off with Those Heads" and $32 USD for "Got Me Covered" foundation, but for me I completely think they are worth it. Not having lumpy skin has made such a difference to my complexion and esteem.

You can visit the
b-liv website here where they have various products for a variety of problematic skin.

LASTLY...GIVEAWAY ALERT!

Check back tomorrow for details of my b-liv giveaway for the chance to win a sample of "Off With Those Heads"!

THE UGLY SIDE OF BEAUTY...

Quick question tonight but did anyone watch it?

Was busy cooking dinner & all I could hear was "ERUGH" and "THATS SICK!"

Basically it was a programme about botched up plastic surgery...made for grim TV dinner viewing...

So yes! Did anyone see it?! Let's discuss!

25% OFF ILLAMASQUA STARTS TOMORROW!

Bookmark and Share
Illamasqua will be giving 25% off any of their products for a limited time only!

If you have bought make up that you were disappointed in you can trade it for 25% off your Illamasqua purchase.

They are running a make-up amnesty in a bid to get the boring, waste of money and doesn't work make up outta there! Woo hoo! Sounds like a plan!

All you have to do is take your good for nothing make up along to a Illamasqua counter and trade them in for 25% off your purchase.

If there is one item I could possibly recommend it has GOT to be "box" lipstick. If you love your red matte lipsticks, definitely give this one a try. It's gorgeous and I am never without it!

Offical info about the "Make-up Amnesty" from Illamasqua below:

How will it work?
There is no limit to how many pieces you can bring and it can be in any condition – falling apart, smashed, nearly empty, dried up… we want to help you start again!

This is your chance to get rid of the old, bland, mediocre make-up sitting at the bottom of your bag without feeling guilty throwing away barely-used make-up.
The offer is across all categories and if you bring back a boring lipstick, you can swap it for a fantastic, creamy matt Lipstick. Or how about a Cream Blusher? Or a cult Nail Varnish? Or a Powdered Metal? Or …
What will it cost me?
Nothing! You are simply giving us your old make-up in order to claim your 25% discount on any Illamasqua product. Just pop along to your nearest counter to find out more [sorry, this Amnesty does not apply to our online shop.]
The Illamasqua Make- up Amnesty will begin from 17th - 31st July and is available at:

Selfridges Oxford Street, Trafford Centre, Birmingham Bullring, Fenwick Newcastle, BT2 Grafton Street Dublin, Debenhams Glasgow, Belfast and Cardiff

EDWARD BESS UK LAUNCH!

Bookmark and Share
When I checked my inbox last week and saw the invite for the Edward Besspress launch for Zuneta.com I let out a little squeal. You know, those horrendously girly squeals of absolute delight...yep...that was me!

I've tried the lipsticks and lipglosses, both of which I love, but the chance to see the entire collection, not to mention meeting the man himself...*happy sigh*

Yesterday's events took place in a beautiful building of Anne Rice quality...think marble floors, black staircases...all housed in a very dark building with Diagon Alley facade. Gorgeous.

Upon arrival I was greeted by Edward himself before taking a seat in a very grand looking room, again think Anne Rice!

With the risk of sounding like I am once again 15 with a teenage crush...Edward Bess is quite simply incredibly beautiful. With long flowing locks and amazing model features, cheekbones to die for and eyes that captivate you (ladies have I said enough?)...Edward is also very down to earth and genuinely excited to see people play with his products.

After giving us an overview of his brand story and range, Edward talks us through each item, explaining what they do and which ones are the most popular shades.

The collection in itself is visually attractive with a minimal feel that is also very sophisticated. Lots of attention to detail going on there.

The formulas of the products are incredibly high quality, with the forthcoming cream to powder foundation literally making me go "wow".
Standout products for me include the smokey eyeshadow trio, the compact rouge (amazing!), concealer that's NOT greasy (YAY!), ultra slick lipstick and of course the "lipstick wardrobe", featuring the complete lipstick and lipgloss set available for a luxury price of £310.
What I really love about the collection is as Edward describes "fool proof make up". He described the horrors of seeing women apply make up at a counter and looking shocking afterwards. The idea behind his range is that you can't mess it up. Every shade is wearable and created to enhance your complexion. From dewy foundations, buttery eyeshadows to creamy lipsticks, you won't find any tacky glitter shimmer in these formulas...it's one hell of a classy collection.

The Edward Bess make up range is available exclusively from Zuneta.com
and I've been told is selling super fast!

Visit the Edward Bess website here

Product reviews to follow shortly...watch this space ;)

Oh and last but not least...because I just HAD to...here I am with Edward Bess (!):

LUXURY GINGER FLOAT BATHS!

I think there might be an influx of bath related blog posts coming up. This is mostly due to the fact that I am having to write all my posts from my iPhone as the internet has yet to be installed in the new flat :(

So! This evenings post is about a gorgeous bath product I received for my birthday last month.

One of my best friends Louise gave me the Origins ginger float cream bubble bath.

One scoop of this thick concoction turns my bland bath into a flurry of heavenly bubbles!

Now I must say...the scent really reminds me of those cola bottled sweets you get! Really, it does...and there I was bamboozled over boy's insistance that the Julique Jasmine shower gel smelt of bubble gum...

So far I've only used less than a quarter of the tub & had approximately five baths. I don't know how much this costs as I was a present but if you're looking for a bit of yumminess to add to your bath then this one is a goodie!

Also makes for a fantastic present. Thanks Louise!

IT SMELLS OF BUBBLEGUM (he insists!)

In our new bathroom resides a gorgeous & really rather expensive shower gel...Jurlique JASMINE shower gel to be precise.

This was another of my bargain boot sale finds for the sum of 85p *grins*

Anyway, the boy has been using this on a daily basis & he's come to the conclusion that it smells of "hubba bubba shower gel".

Hmmm. I think it smells of Jasmine but my nose isn't the "authority of what it smells like". Well that told me eh!

Anyway, he reckons it's neutral & not girly.

Either way we both like it & he says if it were in more "rugged" packaging guys wouldn't mind using it cause it's "bubble gum" scented.

GAH! Who am I kidding?

IT'S SO JASMINE!

Next time you're in John Lewis give it a sniff!

The one thing that I have found with this product is that it leaves my skin rather dry. BOO. Moisturising after using this is a MUST but I love that the jasmine smell lingers in the bathroom and on the skin for a good while afterwards...

I've only tried a handful of things from Jurlique but I really love the fresh, clean scent of their products, especially the citrus hand cream.

Have you tried any Jurlique products? What would you recommend? Please let me know, especially skin care... :)
