SPRING IS HERE! (well on my nails anyway!)

Heck that's a pretty darn bright nail polish eh?

I've managed to restrain myself from removing this polish so far, despite the fact that it is quite shockingly bright, especially for a Monday morning!

I first read about this M&S polish on British Beauty Blogger who was also at the time unsure of the colour but now that I've managed to last two days with it on...I have to say this colour is really starting to grow on me.

Maybe it's because the weather has been so drab and my nails are bright and cheerful, maybe it's all the positive compliments I've been receiving, or maybe it's because it reminds me of daffodils, but either way I am starting to really warm to this colour. It's like Spring on my fingertips!

A little gripe about this polish though...you have to let the coats dry a tad before applying another. It's not like OPI where you can layer and layer and then finish with Seche Vite. Oh no! This method I tried and subsequently ruined my Seche Vite! It now has little strands of yellow swimming in annoying strands *sigh*

This polish is also one of those ones that likes to have "strands". I've heard people complain about stringy nail polish before and not quite GOT what they meant.

This one does it. So watch out!

Polish is available from M&S for £2.50. Shade: Neon Yellow.

NAIL BANDAGES! YOU NEED THIS IN YOUR PURSE!

Quick post to let you know about this fab little nail fit-it kit I bought recently in Sallys.

I've got a rather severe split on my right thumb, half way down my nail so cutting it is not an option...eek!

As you know I love the "teabag trick", and whilst I was in the hospital I tried microporous tape (doesn't work!)...but this kit is a super fast fixer.

It's basically a set of 30 "bandages/stickers" of various sizes which you stick over the split & finish with a coat of clear polish/hardener.

It's much quicker than applying a teabag strip & is pretty invisible.

The box says it lasts for 7-10 days & costs around £2.80.

So far I've had one on for 2 days & it's holding up well so I'm really quite impressed. It's just so much easier than trimming a teabag patch to size & trying to get it in the right position before you polish it down.

Will definitely be carrying an emergency strip in my purse!

THE DAMAGE ERASER? WE'LL SEE ABOUT THAT...

We all suffer from imperfections right?

Well for the last 2 years mine has been this rather annoying little "spot" just under my left eye.

You see it never use to be there...but it just grew and grew till the next thing I knew it was popping up in photographs and people were asking me if it was a "birth mark".

*sigh*

It's not.

It's a right big horrible BROWN SPOT.

Hyperpigmentation, sun damage, aging...whatever the cause, it's there and it's causing me GRIEF.

Enter the "Damage Eraser".
It's called "Even Better clinical". The new, revamped, super brown spot exterminator from Clinique. Well...that's what they want me to believe and heck...I'm just about ready to have hope in anything that's going to remove this yuck from my face.

I've been told to put it on AM and PM underneath moisturiser (it's like a serum if you will)...and then after approximately 12 weeks I should see results.

SO! WATCH THIS SPACE!

If if works I will be singing high HIGH PRAISES.

If it doesn't...expect a rather disgruntled and really rather PISSED OFF review!

For reference I purchased this from Selfridges in London but am pretty sure you can get it online :)

NOTD: M&S LILAC..OOO IT'S LIKE PARMA VIOLETS!

I am really loving the pastel range of new polishes at M&S at the moment! So much so that I bought 3 in one go...Lilac, Yellow and Mint (not sure if those are the correct names mind you!).
Whilst they are more vivid that the pastels Illamasqua and China Glaze are sporting at the moment, for £2.50 a pop you're not going to break the bank!

I am absolutely in LOVE with the lilac...it is a slightly more vibrant cream shade...not so softly does it pastel.

When I first saw it I debated getting it as it looked similar to OPIs "Done Out In Deco", but it's not at all!

If you want something to brighten your week and on the oh-so-cheap...I'd definitely recommend getting this polish :)

REVIEW: RUSK BRILLIANCE SHAMPOO!

Hello everyone!

Feeling bad for not posting at the beginning of the week but it was the first time in about a week where I was actually home! It's amazing how much you can miss creature comforts like a long hot bath (boys place only has a shower) & general girliness like being reunited with luxe pampering goodies & taking as long as you want to paint your nails not to mention deciding on what colour!

So! To make up I am blogging from the bus :)
See:
Anyway! Onto the review!

I bought the Rusk Brilliance shampoo in the Sallys Xmas sale. It came in a set with a leave in conditioner for the bargain price of approximately £4.

I'm not really a hair maintenance kinda gal, in face I am terrible!

The Rusk shampoo smells refreshingly of grapefruit & lathers up really well. One go is enough to give my long hair a through clean so that's not bad eh?
It also washes out with no hassle & apparently keeps your hair colour fresh. Not so sure about this as I have red hair that is notoriously hard to maintain!

Am not very good at describing shampoo but to reiterate, it is a throughly good cleanser without leaving my scalp dry or making my hair greasy in no time!

Unfortunately I can't say the same about the leave in conditioner. I've used it once & that's all. It just didn't do anything to soften my hair or detangle it...something I've found with all leave in conditioners! If anyone can recommend a good one, I'm game to give it a go!

So yes. There you have it. My first blog post from a bus...that's currently stuck in the usual London rush hour!

REVIEW: SLEEK BOHEMIAN PALETTE

I recently got sent the new Sleek make up iDivine Bohemian palette and thought I would share my thoughts on this with you!

I am loving the new graphics Sleek have used for the new card outer packaging. Big improvement on the Contour Kit packaging :P

They have also gone for a white palette this time whilst still keeping the nice slim palette. I definitely think this is one of my main big loves about them. The size is perfect to carry around in my bag and with so many colours!

The colours themselves are an interesting choice. On first glance they don't really scream "I WANT!" to me but after dabbling around with them I am really loving the metallic red and copper. So intense!

I also love the fact that this palette has matte shades. Whilst the yellow and biscuity colours don't necessarily have the highest colour payoff I have a big soft spot for the navy shade. It's fab for a smokey eye!

MOODY MOOs & OVER EAGERNESS = NO!

Good evening! Hope you all had a lovely weekend :)

Tonights post is a bit of a ranty one am afraid...

SALES ASSSTANTS!

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Before I go full throttle let me first point out that I use to be one. Admittedly it was a long time ago now but the principles am sure are still quite similar meaning whilst I had to show that I would be helpful, I would never STALK A CUSTOMER!

My first gripe this weekend was with a Benefit assistant. She pretty much pounced on the boy & I asking if we needed help. I politely said no, she loitered around us & I once again said we were ok. Boy picks something up & she moves in for the kill, sorry i mean "sale". Gah...whatever I can't even be bothered to blog my irritation with her!

Next incident happened in Mac Covent Garden yesterday. I asked a MUA for some help choosing some blushers & she said "yeah ok". Couldn't give s**t splattered across her face & she didn't even clean her brush before applying one to my face, hence what should have been Melba ended up a digusting dirty mess on my cheek.

Her attitude pissed me off so much that I walked away with nothing. I just found her incredibly RUDE.

I did however, like the Chanel girl in Debenhams. A bit scarily in your face but at least she was enthusiastic about what she was trying to sell! The Chanel ladies in John Lewis was equally helpful.

Also went to SpaceNK where the sales assistant asked me if I was ok & politely let me browse without any shadowing. Really liked her respect for personal space!

Lastly & it's back to Benefit but this time in Covent Garden & I liked the girls so much there that I bought Posietint. They showed me all the blushers, demonstrated how to use them & let me make my mind up without any pressure.

So yes! It's a fine line in selling make up. I don't usually let experiences like this bug me but this weekends events were exceptionally irritating!

What's been your worst experience?Comment & let me know!

NOTD: REVLON MINTED

SUPER QUICK post and it's a nail of the day!

I am absolutely LOVING this new shade by Revlon at the moment and I've been getting lots of lovely compliments from men and women ;)

It's a much creamier green than the Barry M green of last year, not quite so in your face, just...dreamy. *happy sigh*

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

MY MUST HAVE PRODUCT FOR MANICURES!

I remember a while ago I mentioned this product and there were a few curious folk who wanted to know more.

What is it if you don't already know?

IT'S THE PRODUCT THAT WILL MAKE MANICURES A BREEZE IS WHAT!

Once upon a time my nails would bare all. You know what I mean...au naturale, naked, bare...NO NAIL POLISH ON.

*shudders in memory*

I think I was also guilty of the chipped to death nail polish crime *ponders*

You see, painting nails was boring. Sitting there painstakingly waiting for the polish to dry. Trying not to smudge it yadda yadda.

Sound familiar?

If it does then you need Seche Vite.

It's basically a thick fast drying top coat. But no ordinary top coat.

What you do is you paint your nails, coat after coat, DO NOT wait for each coat to dry, and then when you're done paint a nice glossy coat of this polish straight on top. Yup, right over the wet colour.

Wait about 5 odd minutes and you're done!

No more naked nails :)

You can buy Seche Vite from Boots for £8.99 or from the ebay store I mentioned in the last post for approx £3 :)

CHEAP NAIL POLISH ON EBAY (OPI, ESSIE, CHINA GLAZE, COLOR CLUB!)

I mentioned this ebay store a while ago in one of my posts, but after the little hiccup with Jolie Beauty Store I thought I'd highlight this one again :)

I discovered "Top Nail Shop" a while ago now when I was hunting for holographic nail polish on ebay. They stock China Glaze for £1.99 and OPI for around £3, Essie is approx £2.65 and Color Club is around £1.50.

If you're in the UK you will know how much we pay here for these brands...and to give you an idea if you're not in the UK, Essie and OPI is around £10, China Glaze £6 and I have zero idea who stocks Color Club!

Now before you start making a shopping list let me point out that this store has a 99.5% positive feedback. So that does mean .5% have had a bad experience. If you do decide to buy I hope you don't enter that .5% but I thought it best to give you the heads up just in case!

Visit the ebay store here

WHAT'S IN MY MAKE UP BAG REVISITED!

Don't you just hate it when you're away from home & forget to pack your MAKE UP BAG?!

This is exactly what I did *sigh*

Thankfully I did have my mini handbag stash on me which has once again made me realise that I need to be much wiser at choosing what goes in it!

Anyway! For the curious, this is what I currently have in my bag:

Contents are:
Urban decay liquid eyeliner in perversion
Ysl rouge volupte no26
Illamasqua lipstick in box
Mac lipstick in brave new bronze
Smashbox reflection high shine lip gloss
Benefit miss popularity
Nars eyeshadow in fathom
Mac feline eyeliner
Mac cherry lip liner
Smashbox bionic mascara
OCC lip tar
YSL touché éclat
Pescriptives lip brush
Clarins concealer
Mac cream blush (ancient!)
Bourjois glass nail file
Hello Kitty mini mirror
1 vial of eye drops

So yeah...lots of lip products!

Am going to work on perfecting my mini stash as there are a few things I could really have done with like a mini tub of emergency foundation...or I dunno...EYE LASH CURLERS!

SHOCK HORROR! IT'S A THOROUGHLY GOOD CLEANSER!

Ok...I know...it's the big bad M-O...*looks sheepish*

Confused?

Let me explain.

I have always ALWAYS been put off this the Eve Lom cleanser for two BIGGIES.

1) It has mineral oil in.
For those of you who don't know, mineral oil is a by product of crude oil. It's a cheap emollient used in bog standard cheap drugstore products...and also baby oil.
Hmmm...yeah.

2) IT COSTS A FRIKKING SMALL FORTUNE!
£48 for a 100ml tub!

So...yes that was enough to put me off this product forever, until of course I strolled into Space NK on Sunday with one of my close friends who was on the hunt for some luxe goodies.
One of the products she bought was the Eve Lom cleanser and the sales assistant there kindly gave me a free sample to try myself.

Super sceptical me tried it that night...not expecting much if anything.

BUT! I really shamefully love this product! *wails*

It smells sooo good, spicy (from the cloves) and just is an absolute pleasure to use. Truly.

I was currently using Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish which I heart dearly. My only gripe with it was that it didn't really tackle my waterproof mascara as well as I wanted it to, so eye make up remover was a MUST after I cleansed.

Eve Lom makes my mascara EAT DUST! *nods*

My work colleague even said to me yesterday that my skin was looking exceptionally good.

That did it.

I was sold.

I've bought a vat of the stuff...all £48 worth *cringes at the price*

BUT...I asked for a sample when I bought it so that one of you could try it too!

First person to leave a comment gets it!

YES! On my nose and a few on my cheeks...

-Do you use eye cream?

No...I am very bad at this. I don't think any work. If you can suggest some please do!

In my teens...hell yeah. LOTS. These days I get the odd demon of a blemish that rears its ugly head for important occasions..i.e dates, job interviews...yadda yadda.

-How about lipgloss?

Sometimes...but I often get nail polish on there instead.

-Do you like drugstore makeup?

-Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?

Colour most definitely.

-Which celebrity always has great make up?

Dita Von Teese. I also like Sienn Miller’s eyeliner looks and Kiera Knightley’s smokey eyes.

-If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?

Benetint I think...a glow to the cheeks always makes me look awake and perky.

-Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?

Always. In fact I will be leaving the flat bare faced as I left my entire make up bag at work!

-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?

Hmmm, if I had a wicked cram that could even out my skintone then yes.

-In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?

MAC. I love the colour range.

-What do you think of Makeup?

It excites me and I think it always will. I love that you can buy something for a few pounds and walk away happy...I love experimenting and I look at make up very much as art. It’s therapeutic for me too!

SUPER HANDY BRUSH BAGS!

Good evening everyone. First off let me apologise in advance & let you know that my blogging might be sporadic this week. Am staying with the boy all week so I'm without my laptop. I do however have my iPhone so I shall be taking bad photos & blogging from it * nods*

Anyway, all that aside it's onto this evenings post.

I recently stumbled across these handy little pouches in the ever useful Japanese store "Muji".
Whenever I am away from home I like to take a few essential make up brushes & guiltily shove them in my make up bag, often resulting in disheveled bristles...not good!

These Muji bags are perfect. They don't take up a lot of space, they allow me to use my usual make up bag (no wretched useless brush compartments), they take up minimum space, weigh nothing & are cheap!

It's win WIN for me :)

The pouches are available in two sizes.£1.95 for the large & £1.50 for the small.

NYX BLUSHES...(a much delayed part 2 of my NYX haul!)

I completely forgot to post part 2 of my NYX haul...eeeek!

It's not really much of a part 2 really...only two blushes but I am very fond of one in particular so I thought I would share :)

Now let me start off with saying I'm not an obsessive over blush...I love my Benetint immensely but I've started to expand my blush collection...*smirks*

I ordered my blushes from the Cherry Culture website and I don't know if you've ever ordered anything from there but the colour "swatches" are pretty hit and miss.

After much umming and arhhing I decided to get the following:

Left to right: NYX Powder Blush in "006 Peach" and NYX Rouge Blush in "05 Glow".

First things first...not sure if you can see in the photo but the rouge blush is all lumpy! When they've poured the blush into the little pan it's obviously gone all yuck which sucked. However, sending it back would probably cost the the same price as the product so meh...!

Thoughts on this product?

I like it! For $5 (on offer) it's a nice perky shade that's soft to the touch and blends really easily. On first touch you think it's going to be too oily but it actually dries to a nice finish. Something I wish "Some Kinda..." would do... :P

Next up is the powder blush in "Peach".

I was set on adding a peach to my blush collection and this one fit the profile of blush I was looking for. Matte, no shimmer, powder blush...so I got it! I did debate it though as I wasn't sure I had chose the right shade for my skin tone.

I LOVE THIS! Wooo it's a great one for the morning! Appearance wise it looks too light for my NC25/30 skintone but upon application it really helps to brighten my face and make me look fresh faced in the morning.

Swatches below for reference:

What's your favourite blush? I want to start trying more shades so please let me know. Am particularly interested in ones that don't require touch ups during the day. Stains and gels are most welcomed!

URBAN DECAY ALICE PALETTE IN DEBENHAMS STORES NOW!

After failing miserably at trying to order an Alice palette from the Debenhams online store, I headed to the Oxford Street branch where I was greeted with a bazillion palettes all over the place!

I don't work near Westfield anymore which would have been my first port of call today so wasn't holding out much hope of getting a palette as despite living in London, don't often venture into the West End or live anywhere near a Debenhams!

Did that make sense? *furrows brow*

Am so tired & in dire need of sleep.

So yes! Palette is mine!Rejoice!

If you're after one head down to Oxford st as they have tons. They are limited to one per customer so chances are there will be some left for a while yet.

Will post a review this week but just to keep you in the loop my posts might be a bit all over the place this week as the boy has come back! Been away for 3 months so am spending as much time as I can with him :)

Will be posting from my iPhone though!
