IMATS LONDON PHOTOS!

I'll just warn you straight off that I took a LOT of photos! There was so much to see and so many interesting looks to photograph that I had my camera pretty much glued to my hand.

IMATS stands for "International Make Up Artist Trade Show". The official website describes it as:

"Known simply as “The Show” to the make-up world, the International Make-Up Artist Trade Show (IMATS)is the only show of its kind in the world.
Thousands of make-up artists, vendors, manufacturers and enthusiasts convene for the make- up world’s biggest gathering to discuss, display, discover and collect the best the industry has to offer."

This was my first time attending having decided not to go to last years (big mistake as I missed out on the Mac Pro cards), and it was super busy! Even the queue for presale pick up was a nightmare:
It was so busy in fact that it was difficult to even get to some of the stands and see what was actually on offer.

There were a lot of professional and aspiring MUAs all displaying their talent as well as special FX prosthetic artists who's creations were amazing!

Enough rambling...on to the photos!

The first two are from the Mac Pro team:

I LOVE this period wig:
There were lots of make up artists all busy creating some amazing looks:

Pixiwoo's Nicola creating a look for Illamasqua:My overall thoughts on IMATS was that it was a good experience but very very crowded! People were literally grabbing at items and pushing and shoving on occasion...delightful!

Unfortunately I didn't stick around for the Alex Box presentation because of this...bit disappointed that I missed it but also happy to have got out of there early!

Would I recommend IMATS? I think so. If you're a make up artist definitely. If you're a blogger or make up fanatic like me there is lots to buy and see. It's a great chance to buy overseas brands such as Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and a lot of stalls were doing special "trade show" prices like Illamasqua...YAY!

Having said that am not sure if I will go again...but then never say never eh? :P

What did you think of IMATS? Please share your thoughts!

Would have loved to go to IMATS but I think the business would frustrate the hell out of me!!

  2. I think with the IMATS you have to bear in mind, it is all types of make up, like prosthetics, special effects etc. I think the ticket was far too expensive esp since there wasn't enough stands there, if you compare it with professional beauty show etc. If you are an accomplished make up artist then its quite useful if you want to get stuff for your kit.

  5. I am completely blown away by all those makeup looks O_O I agree with Arianne, my favourite is the one with the lace pattern.

I'd love to go to check out brands like OCC, Illamasqua, MUFE and MAC Pro, but the crowds are a bit of a turnoff.
